Biography
Karl Wojde was born on July 9, 1833, educated in the Warsaw noble guesthouse. On August 7, 1851, he entered the 1st Engineer Battalion as a non-commissioned officer and on March 9, 1853 was promoted to ensign in the 2nd Engineer Reserve Battalion.
In 1858 he graduated from the course of the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff in the 1st category; On January 1, 1860, with the rank of captain, he was enrolled in the General Staff and appointed assistant to the senior adjutant of the main headquarters of the 1st Army, from March 10, 1862 he was headquarters officer for special assignments at the same headquarters. In 1863 he participated in the suppression of the Polish rebellion and, for the difference in the battle at the Bolimov Forest, was promoted to lieutenant colonel (with seniority of January 27, 1863). Since December 25 of the same year he was chief of staff of the 2nd Grenadier Division.
March 27, 1866 Woide received the rank of colonel; On December 10, 1867 he was appointed commander of the 8th Grenadier Moscow Regiment , on September 15, 1873 he was appointed assistant chief of staff of the Warsaw Military District, and on June 29, 1874 he was promoted to major general (with seniority of January 1, 1878).
On May 7, 1878 he was appointed chief of staff of the Orenburg Military District; on January 27, 1881 he was sent to the command of the troops of the Warsaw Military District; in 1882 he was a member of the General Roop Commission for the Strengthening of Warsaw , in 1883 he was appointed a member of the commission for the formation and formation of troops and on August 30, 1889, for the difference, he was promoted to lieutenant general.
On August 14, 1890 he was appointed head of the 2nd , and on October 31 of the same year, the 10th Infantry Division . Since June 3, 1898, he was a member of the Military Scientific Committee of the General Staff and chairman of the commission for the description of the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. . March 9, 1903 was promoted to general from infantry and appointed to the disposal of the Minister of War.
Karl Mavrikevich Woide died in 1905. He was buried in the Calvinist cemetery in Warsaw .
K. M. Woide actively worked in the field of military literature and has a lot of publications in the periodical press, his major works published as separate publications are also known.

K.M. Wojde used the coat of arms Dobrorad , granted by Nicholas I to his father, doctor of medicine and surgery, Mauritius Friedrichovich Wojda [1] .
