France national team at the 2002 Olympics

The team regularly performs in both the Higher and First Divisions of the World Championships, however, in the Higher Division it does not achieve much success. Nevertheless, the team in some matches was remembered for its vibrant game and beat the favorites several times. So, at the 2013 World Cup, the French team did not reach the playoffs, but sensationally defeated the Russian team in a bitter struggle (2: 1), and at the 2014 World Cup in shootouts, they sensationally outplayed Canada (3: 2 blvd.). It is noteworthy that both of these victories were achieved on May 9, 2013 and 2014 , respectively. Takes 13th place in the IIHF ranking ( 2019 ).

In 2019, at the World Championship 2019, the French team was not able to win a single victory in 7 matches and, losing in the last match to direct competitors from the UK team ), after 12 years of performance, left the top division of the World Championships. [2] The highest achievement of these 12 seasons was the Quarter-finals of the 2014 tournament .
