Gayfejyan, Vagram Mkrtychevich

Vajram Mkrtychevich Gayfejyan ( April 14, 1879 , Akhaltsikhe - November 30, 1960 , Yerevan) is an Armenian artist. Honored Teacher (1943) and Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR (1954) [1] .

Biography

Born in the family of a priest of the Armenian Apostolic Church and a teacher of Armenian language and literature, Mkrtich Gayfedjian.

  • 1888-1891 Studies at the Akhaltsikha City College.
  • 1901 - Enters the medical faculty of Moscow University.
  • 1904-1907 - studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. The pupil of Vasnetsov, Ivanov, Korovin.
  • 1912 - worked in Akhaltsikhe, then in Tiflis.

After the establishment of Soviet power in Armenia, he moved to Yerevan, where, in addition to his creative work, he was engaged in teaching.
