Description

Small fish about 7-8 cm long. The body is usually compressed laterally. The mouth is small upward. The eyes are large, located in front of the head. Dorsal fin with 9–13 rays. The anal fin has 13 to 26 rays. The caudal fin is bifurcated and totals up to 19 full rays. Fish live in shallow streams and ponds [2] .

Distribution

Representatives of the genus are found in India , Sri Lanka , Pakistan , Myanmar , Thailand , Malaysia and Sumatra [2]
