History
The first wooden church appeared here, on the corner of the current Myasnitskaya and Milyutinsky lane in 1471 . It was founded in memory of the world with Veliky Novgorod , concluded by the Grand Duke of Moscow Ivan III . At that time, Novgorod settlements were located in this area of Moscow. Myasnitskaya street until the XVIII century was called Evplovka. The stone church was built in 1750-1753 at the request of Major-General Tomilov’s widow and other parishioners. On its first floor was the throne of sv. Evpla and pride Michael Archangel , and above - Trinity.
In 1812, the church became famous for the fact that only one served there during the occupation of Moscow by Napoleon . As the architects say, it was “the only specimen of the monument of the transitional era, which combined the architectural techniques of the time of Peter with the West European influences”, which, however, did not save the church from demolition in 1926 .
In 1925, photographs of the church were placed in the journal Construction of Moscow with the caption:
“Here, on the initiative of the central board of the state association of machine-building plants ( GOMZ 's), a 9-storey Palace of Trusts will be built”
Since 2007, on the site of a wasteland, where the temple was, began to build a shopping and office center. Currently, in the area where the church and nearby buildings were located, there is the building of HSE.
