Archegonius of the representative of the genus Porella from the department Hepatic mosses ( Marchantiophyta )
Arkhegnii , or Archegonia ( dr. Greek ἀρχή - beginning , γον потом - offspring ) - female reproductive organ in higher spore ( bryophytes , fern- shaped , etc.) and gymnosperms , multicellular organ of sexual reproduction of gametophytes ; gametangium , in which female gametes , eggs, develop.
Archegonium in higher plants is a small bulb-shaped body consisting of a leg, a lower expanded part (abdomen) and an upper narrowed part (neck). Outside, the archegonium is protected by sterile cells. The egg is located in the abdomen of archegonia.

Oogonius
Unicellular female genital organs of algae are commonly called oogonies . However, algologists usually also call multicellular female gametangia of char algae as oogonies.
