Shadow - the archetype described by K. G. Jung , which is a relatively autonomous part of the personality, consisting of personal and collective mental attitudes that cannot be accepted by the person due to incompatibility with a conscious self-image. Shadow unconscious contents are perceived through projection and are subject to integration into the integral structure of the personality [1] .
Features
In dreams, the Shadow manifests itself in the form of a person of the same sex as the dreamer, causing rejection and irritation. The shadow is part of the ego , but comes out of the unconscious . Ignoring or not knowing Shadows can cause a personality mismatch [2] .
The Shadow figure personifies everything that the subject does not recognize in itself and that nevertheless - directly or indirectly - again and again pops up in his mind, for example, defective traits of his character or other unacceptable trends.
