Hirsutism is the excess growth of terminal hair in women and children in the male type. Terminal - dark, hard and long hair , unlike fluffy, which are slightly colored, soft and short. The male type of hair growth is characterized by the appearance of hair on the chin, upper chest (in the sternum), upper back and abdomen. The appearance of terminal hair in the lower abdomen, lower back, near the nipples, on the arms and legs is normal. We are talking about hirsutism only in relation to women and children. Hirsutism usually develops spontaneously in connection with other diseases. The prognosis depends on the cause of the disease and the effectiveness of the treatment [1] .

Reasons
Primary hirsutism is hereditary. In most cases, this confirms a family history. Secondary hirsutism occurs due to a number of factors, including endocrine disorders, ovarian disease, the use of certain medications.
