The word * laguz in Pragerman and its derivatives in other ancient Germanic languages mean "moisture", "water", "lake, sea", "stream" ( Goth. Lagus - water ).

In the younger futarka, it is called Lögr, which in Old Norse means “water”, “moisture”. In medieval futarka, the rune ᛛ comes from it.

In the Anglo-Saxon futarik called Lagu ( al-Eng. "Lake").

In esotericism, this rune is associated with intuition, with the stream that leads. Main qualities: soft, secret, adjustable. Willow is associated with the rune Laguz. Also, its plants - onions, garlic (from prim.-German. Laukaz - wild onions, leeks).
