Mannaz is the twentieth rune of a senior futarka and thirteenth rune of a junior futarka . The name literally means "man", "man". Means sound [ m ].

Senior Futark
In the older futarka (ᛗ), the rune is called * mannaz from pragherm . * mannz / mannô, which means "man" or "man."
Anglo-Saxon Runes
In the Anglo-Saxon futarka is the twentieth rune and is called Mann with the same meaning.
Also in the Anglo-Saxon futark there is a rune stan (фут), which is similar to the mirrored rune Mann and means the sound combination [ s t ].
Junior Runes
In the younger runes (ᛘ) was called Maðr ( another scand. "Man", "man") and was the thirteenth in a row in the alphabet. Graphically similar to the older rune Algiz .
