Biography
After studying philosophy in the 1970s, he worked as a journalist for several years and began writing novels .
Ken Follett gained worldwide fame after the publication of the novel " Eye of the Needle " ( Eng. Eye of the Needle ). The book has been translated into 30 languages and has a circulation of 12 million copies.
Describing the cathedral in the fictional city of Kingsbridge in the novel The Pillars of the Earth, as well as World Without End, Follett was inspired by the Catholic Cathedral of Santa Maria de Vitoria in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain). This led to a large influx of tourists, for which the city government established a monument to the writer near the cathedral.
