Biography
Since 1954 he lived in Petrozavodsk , graduated from the Petrozavodsk Construction College in 1967 .
After serving in the army, he entered the Faculty of Psychology of Leningrad State University , which he graduated in 1977 .
Until 1992, he worked in the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic . He was awarded the medals "For Impeccable Service" in the internal affairs bodies of the III, II and I degrees.
In 1990, he was elected to the Supreme Council of the Russian Federation ( 1990 - 1993 ). Member of the Committee on Mass Information and Relations with Public Organizations, member of the Committee on Law and Order, Deputy Chairman of the Commission of the Supreme Council for the Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repression .
In 1993, he was elected to the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the first convocation ( 1993 - 1995 ). Member of the "Choice of Russia" faction , member of the Committee on Law and Order.
In the 1990s - Chairman of the Karelian branch of the historical and educational society Memorial . Author of books on the history of the construction of the White Sea-Baltic Canal , on the victims of political repression in the USSR.
May 11, 1997, died tragically in a car accident. [2]
