Old Sando - a village in Sandovsky district of the Tver region. According to 1997 data, there were 104 farms in the village, 251 inhabitants.

Content
History
The village has been known since 1500 as Sandovo by census books. In 1745 and 1792 was applied to the atlases of the Russian Empire. Since 1775, Sandovo was included in Vesyegonsk County. In May 1924, Sandovo became a district center. In 1932, the district center was moved to the village of Orudovo, located at the railway station and soon renamed the village of Sandovo. Accordingly, Sandovo was renamed to Old Sandovo.
Geographical position
Located about 10 kilometers south-east of Sandovo , on the Khabotskoe-Molokovo-Sandovo highway and a few kilometers from the Dynino railway station (Hovinishte II section - Pestovo ). Not far from the Old Sandovo is located Starosandovsky lake , with sandy quarries.
Industry, Transport
Long-distance buses run from Old Sandovo from Tver to Sandovo, as well as local buses to Russian Cornflowers and Mokey Mountain. Industrial mining of gravel and rubble is carried out in sand quarries in the vicinity of the village and at the Starosandovsky lake.
Administrative Device
In 2005, a new municipality was formed on the territory of the village and 30 adjacent settlements - the Starosandovsky rural settlement with the center in the village of Staraya Sandovo. The population of the settlement (together with the adjacent settlements) is 631 people (2006 data).
Culture, Attractions
The monument of culture is the Church of the Nativity of Christ (1862–1872). Local landmark - a monument to the tractor of the 1920s on a pedestal by the road. Established in the 60s of the XX century by the chairman of the collective farm "Memory of Lenin".
