South Park Premiere
Falling Away from Me was first performed in the animated series South Park on Comedy Central, in the series The Great Korn Pirate Ghost Mystery . The musicians of the group played the roles of detectives in the style of Scooby Doo , and at the end of the episode they performed Falling Away from Me. It is worth noting that the song was not performed from the very beginning, completely missing the introduction, and starting with the cry of Jonathan Davis .
Video clip
The video clip was directed by Limp Bizkit vocalist Fred Durst (appearing in the frame for an instant at 4:24). The video begins as a continuation of the famous video from Freak on a Leash , completing an animated passage. The video clip shows how a young girl is brought to frustration by her father, and she eventually runs away from home in the middle of the night. The video about the girl is interspersed with inserts in which Korn is played in a box hung with ball-shaped lamps. The video was released on November 29 , 1999 .
Acoustic version
Korn performed "Falling Away from Me" on their acoustic album . At the end of the song, Jonathan Davis sang a duet with backing vocalist Kalen Chase, the lines β beating me down β and β falling away from me β. This one is written in the Gothic style.
Jonathan Davis comments on the meaning of the song.
This song is about domestic violence, and that there are ways to get help in such cases, telling someone about what happened, or calling the helpline, there are ways to get rid of such situations. No one should suffer like that. |
