Shmatov, Vladimir Egorovich

Vladimir Egorovich Shmatov - President of the Fatherland Interregional Social and Patriotic Foundation named after D. M. Born on September 1, 1941 in the village of Purekh, Gorodetsky District, Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod) Region, in a family of a career soldier. He graduated from the Gorky Polytechnic Institute in 1963 with a degree in mechanical engineering technology, machine tools and metalworking. He worked as a design engineer, teacher at the university, head of the department, dean of the faculty, vice-rector for educational work. Actively engaged in research activities.

The main scientific achievements when working at the university:

  1. Creation of a scientific laboratory for the application of wear-resistant coatings on the cutting surfaces of tools.

  1. Development of technical documentation and industrial production of a range of woodworking machines, including mod. PFS-150, DKS-320, TsNTO-5, BPS-350, UZS-175.
  2. Production and implementation in industry (for the first time in Russia) of water-cooled high-wear-resistant copper plates for the melting complex "Federal-Mogul" . The service life of the manufactured plates has more than doubled the service life of similar plates manufactured in Germany.

Social work: since 2004, the president of the Fatherland interregional social and patriotic foundation named after D.M. Pozharsky.

Hobbies: studying your family tree. The result of the study was the writing and publication in 2004 of the book “PUREX” . At the same time, he is engaged in local lore and the study of sources related to information about the life and work of Prince Dmitry Mikhailovich Pozharsky. As a result of the research conducted, 17 scientific articles of local history have been written and published in various publications, some of which are posted on the website of the Fatherland Foundation .
