Giovanna Antonelli was born on March 18, 1976 in Rio de Janeiro , her father is the famous opera singer Gilton Prado, her mother is Suely Antonelli, a professional ballerina of Italian origin.

At the age of 11, the girl already played on the stage of the youthful amateur theater, and at 14 she made her television debut as a co-host of the show “Clube da Criança”, on the now defunct Rede Manchete channel. Four years later, she first acted as an actress in the series, starring in the telenovela " Tropicanka " by Globo . The following year, Giovanna returned to Manchete and played in the two soap operas Tocaia Grande and Chica da Silva. In 1998, she was invited to the Globo in the series "The Summer of Our Secret ", and in 1999 she played in the series " The Power of Desire ." In the same year, she made her film debut in the movie “Bossa Nova”, the romantic comedy of the Brazilian director Bruno Barreto . After a magnificent wedding in Italy, the actress intended to move with her new husband to the United States.
