However, for some people this is not enough. They are waiting for something incredible, magical, to escape from everyday worries and hard memories ...

Arriving at her relatives, she meets with Rosa ( Susan Sarandon ), a forty-year-old publisher who has been compelled to look after her sick mother Helen for the past ten years, and therefore does not develop relations with men. And then Rose is confronted with a miracle that began in a neighboring chamber. At this time, Mike himself suffers the persecution of Artie ( Alan Arkin ) - an elderly cafe owner who is sure that after reincarnation his wife’s soul found itself in the body of a policeman.
After Artie has a heart attack, Mike takes the old man to the hospital, where crank Jules ( Marcus Thomas ) also came, ready to injure himself to spend Christmas at the hospital, like fourteen years ago - the best Christmas in his life ...
