Azgaldyan Leonid Rubenovich ( armenian ոեոնիդ Ռուբենի Ազգաայան ) ( November 22, 1942 , Tbilisi - June 21, 1992 , Mardakert ) is an Armenian physicist and one of the founders of the Liberation Army.

He graduated from the Physics Department of Moscow State University and YSU , worked in the field of automatic control systems .
He was one of the leaders of the Karabakh movement, from February 1990 he planned and organized the defense of several regions of Armenia and Karabakh. In 1991, he founded the Liberation Army with Hovsep Hovsepyan, a military organization designed to protect the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh .
Posthumously awarded the " Battle Cross of the First Degree " [1] [2] .
