Hack (tool)

Hapchot Bridon.jpg

Hack (from the English. Hack [1] , also absho , from the French. Hapchot ) - a tool used to chop resin [2] of some conifers ( pine , larch , Siberian cedar ) by applying cuts on the trunk of a partially partially barked tree (with leaving about a millimeter layer of cortex) with incisors installed in the instrument.

There are both manual and mechanized (pneumatic) hacks with the possibility of supplying a stimulating fluid, for example, HDSC [3] .

Manual Hack

A hack happens: with two guides (a cutter is inserted into each (above the guide), for each side there is a guide) for applying cuts one above the other (ascending sweep) and with one guide (one cutter) for applying cuts one under the other (descending sweeping) , in this case, the guides are double and one cutter is placed between them.

The incisors are mounted on a round handle, holding which the lifter (the worker producing the gum ) used the tool, making cuts on the trunk from the center of the carra (the barked part of the trunk, about 2/3 of the diameter ) ascending to the right and left forming an “inverted Christmas tree”.

In the USSR in 1956, an envelope hack was invented, which allows serifs to be made without climbing a ladder.
