History
On August 18, 1972, a trolleybus movement was opened in Kursk . The first trolleybus left the depot on August 21, 1972. The movement of 25 ZiU-5 trolleybuses (modifications D) was opened, which received inventory numbers 01-25.

- August 18, 1972 - the opening of the "Agricultural Institute - Red Square" line
- October 27, 1973 - the opening of the line to the South bus station (Dzerzhinsky Square).
- January 1975 - opening of the line to school number 3.
- November 4, 1976 - the opening of the line to the CPC (cardboard and printing plant).
- November 5, 1982 - the opening of the line to Lgovsky turn.
- November 6, 1985 - opening of the line to the main thoroughfare
- November 6, 1989 - opening of the line to the aviation center.
- January 25, 2010 - opening of the line to the North-West microdistrict (official opening took place on February 3)
- March 13, 2019 - The first electric bus went on the line, the next from Znamensky Cathedral to the Severny microdistrict

The operation of the trolleybus system in Kursk is carried out by the Kurskelektrotrans MUE located at 305022, Kursk, ul. 2nd Aggregatnaya, d. 4a, Eastern tram depot.
Trolleybus Depot
The trolleybus depot of the city is located in the microdistrict SHA at the address: 305001, Kursk, st. Caucasian, 1. Designed for 100 trolleybuses. On the territory of the depot there are 2 sinks, 5 ditches (2 passageways for TO-1, one for minor repairs, one is divided into paint and for minor repairs, 2 ditches for TO-2).

Submission History
- In 1972, traffic was opened by 25 ZiU-5 trolleybuses, airborne 01-25.
- Further, until 1999, the depot was updated with small regular lots of trolleybuses ZiU-682 , airborne 26-222.
- In 1998, a Kiev-12 trolley bus arrived in Kursk, arriving at the exhibition in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Kursk tram .
- In 2001, 5 VMZ-5298 trolleybuses arrived onboard, 223-227 onboard.
- Then in 2004, ZiU-682 trolleybuses were purchased, which passed KVR at the plant in Ivanovo , in the amount of 5 cars, 228-232 onboard
- In 2006, the AKSM-321 trolleybus was tested in the city. Now this trolleybus is operating in Minsk .
- In 2007, the city received 6 new VZTM-LiAZ-5280 trolley buses, on-board 001–006 (numbering was restarted).
- The most unexpected purchase occurred at the end of 2009 - 10 low-floor trolley buses of the new generation AKSM-321 were purchased, which received on-board 007-016.
- In June 2010, a used trolleybus AKSM-321 was purchased in Smolensk (received on-board 017), and in 2011, another new one (received on-board 032).
- In late August - early September, 3 ZiU-682G-016.04 trolleybuses arrived at Kursk (numbers 018-020).
- in 2011, the assembly of Belarusian components of 1K trolleybuses at the depot base began. To date, 24 trolleybuses have been collected (No. 021-031, 033-045)
- At the end of January 2019, the first of five trolleybuses with autonomous Trolza-5265.08 Megapolis arrived in the city (received on-board 052)
- On May 9, the second of five trolleybuses with autonomous running Trolza-5265.08 Megapolis arrived (received on-board 053)
- On May 18, the third of five trolleybuses with autonomous running Trolza-5265.08 Megapolis arrived (received on-board 054)
- On May 28, the fourth of five autonomous trolleybuses arrived (received on-board 055)
- On August 11, the last of five purchased autonomous trolleybuses arrived (received on-board 056)

Trolleybus assembly
In 2010, the Kursk region signed a contract with Belkommunmash OJSC on cooperation, under the agreement, the Belkommunmash-321 trolleybus car set was sent from Minsk to Kursk.
On January 24, it was assembled; by February 23, 4 more trolleybuses were collected, which received numbers No. 021-025. [14] .
Assembly continues to this day, since then 34 units of new trolley buses have entered the line. The trolleybus received a 1K model.
