Vladimir Nikolayevich Dezhurov (born July 30, 1962 , the village of Yavas , Mordovian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic ) is a Russian military pilot, an astronaut .

Biography
He was born in the family of servicemen Nikolai Serafimovich and Anna Vasilyevna Dezhurovs second after his sister Galina. In 1983 he graduated from the Kharkov Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots named after S. I. Gritsevets (reorganized in 2001) with the rank of lieutenant with a diploma “Military pilot-engineer”. After that, he served 4 years in the Air Force units of the Odessa Military District. In October 1987 , an order was issued by the Air Force Commander-in-Chief to enroll Vladimir Dezhurov in the cosmonaut cosmonaut squad of the Air Force and from December 1987 to June 1989 Vladimir Nikolaevich, along with other candidates for test cosmonauts of the 8th set of the cosmonaut cosmonaut corps, underwent a general space training course. Until April 1994, Dezhurov was preparing for the flight on the spacecraft Soyuz TM and OK Mir as part of a group, and also studied in absentia at the Air Force Academy. Yu.A. On March 14, 1995 , the Soyuz TM-21 spacecraft launched by the international Russian-American crew, consisting of V. Dezhurov (commander), G. Strekalov, and the American astronaut N. Tagard, launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome . Within the framework of the Russian-American Soyuz-Shuttle program, he worked for 79 days at the Mir orbital station, for which he was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation in 1995.
