Middle Peterhof is the middle part of the city of Peterhof . Located between the Upper Garden and the Factory ravine. Connects New and Old Peterhof . It was also called “Quarter after Emblem” (the word “quarter” before the revolution was used not only in the modern sense, but also as an administrative-police unit headed by a special quarterly overseer [ significance of fact? ] ) for its location to the west of the outbuilding under the Coat of Arms of the Imperial Great Peterhof Palace [1] . One of the latest districts of the city, according to A.F. Geyrot, arose already in 1835 , when “the highest command was given to empty seats between the Upper Garden and the Factory Canal .... ... to distribute to those who wish to build "... [2] Therefore, private buildings dominated here. On the ancient map of Peterhof, dated 1909 [3] , Middle Peterhof is designated as part of New Peterhof.

History
Peter's Board
For a long time the area on which there will be Middle Peterhof remained deserted. Only from the time of Peter the Great, on the edge of the Factory Ravine, there existed a “diamond mill” (the future Lapidary Factory), which worked on water power, and the entire territory crossed the Oblique Canal (now, the Goltz Canal is part of the fountain water line built in the 1720s). Since 1727, the earthen fortress of Peter II (disappeared at the end of the century) was erected between the diamond mill and the Upper Garden, and in 1785, Cavaliers' houses, which have not survived to this day , were built near it. But in general, the territory of the future urban area remained deserted. Middle Petergof will receive its current layout in the nineteenth century .
World War II Times
In 1941 - 1944, Middle Peterhof was located in the occupied territory and was badly damaged. Of all the various buildings, there are: the Vsevolozhskiy mansion ( 1848 , architect Gaspar Forsatti (?)), The house of Redichkin, the house of Zachary, three houses of private owners of the XIX century , the Military School ( 1914 , architect Ilyin), the barracks of the Horse-Grenadier Regiment ( 1839 , in 1868 rebuilt in stone), as well as the ensemble of Wanted Square ( 1834 - 1841 , architect I. I. Charlemagne, 1st ).
