Krasnokutsk Civil Aviation Flight School named after Honored Pilot of the USSR I.F. Vasina (KKLU GA) is a flight school located in the city of Krasny Kut, Saratov Region . The area where the city is located is very suitable for training flights. Around the whole steppe, so that an emergency landing can be completed without any problems in any field. There are no forests there, apart from rare shrubs.

It was founded on the basis of the Kachinsky Flight School , evacuated to Red Kut in 1941 . Since 2009, it is a branch of the Ulyanovsk Higher Aviation School of Civil Aviation .

The school trains commercial pilots of civil aviation . The stated period of study is 2 years 10 months according to the standard training program, but rarely is anyone able to graduate on time due to big problems with flying. The issue may be delayed for a year or more. Upon graduation, state-issued diplomas are issued on secondary vocational education in the specialty - Flight Operation of Aircraft (LELA). This gives you the right to obtain a GA Commercial Pilot Certificate (CPL (A)). Cadets are trained both on a paid and budgetary basis. Initial flight training takes place on airplanes:

  • Cessna 172s
  • Diamond DA-40NG

Graduation Aircraft:

  • Turbolet L-410 UVP-E20
  • Diamond DA-42NG (flights on this type are carried out only in Ulyanovsk)

Training flights are conducted at the Krasny Kut aerodrome , as well as at the landing sites Komsomolskoye and Yamskoye, as well as in Ulyanovsk (a / d Vostochny and Barataevka).

College History

On the eve of World War II, the country had a powerful aviation industry - the Civil Air Fleet (Civil Air Fleet). The Civil Air Fleet took first place in the world in terms of the length of overhead lines, transportation of goods, and the use of aircraft in the sectors of the national economy.

Anticipating the possible aggression of Nazi Germany against the Soviet Union, the party and the government took urgent measures to strengthen the country's defense capabilities. One of these measures was to strengthen the air force. To do this, about a hundred training squadrons were created in various cities of the country, and Aeroflot was assigned the training of young pilots on U-2 aircraft, followed by their transfer to the Air Force and long-range aviation.

Among the squadrons was the training squadron of the Civil Air Fleet, which would subsequently be renamed the Krasnokutsk GA Flight School.

The 16th Separate Training Squadron of the Civil Air Fleet began its biography in Pervomaisk, Odessa Region, on December 16, 1940.

However, in connection with the beginning of World War II, she was evacuated to Svatovo, Kharkov region (Order of the Main Directorate of the Civil Air Fleet of 07/03/41.), And then - to Pavlodar of the Kazakh Republic, (Order of the State Civil War Fleet No. 84 of 09/19/41 .) where they began to prepare flight personnel. They worked in very difficult conditions throughout the entire period of the Great Patriotic War. With an increase in the growth and volume of training on the basis of the 16th training squadron in the Siberian town 03/09/43. was organized (by the order of the Main Directorate of the Civil Air Fleet No. 034) Pavlodar school of pilots of the Civil Air Fleet. An additional flight technical staff from training squadrons of Abakan , Barabinsk , and the Tatar Republic were included in the organized pilot school. Pavlodar flight school consisted of 4 indicated training squadrons and grew into a modern educational flight institution of the Civil Air Fleet.

The Pavlodar flight school of the Civil Air Fleet retrained aircraft technicians, mechanics, shooters, airborne radio operators sent from the front, to pilots according to an accelerated 40-hour program, on a U-2 plane. The school was in great difficulty. There wasn’t enough flight personnel, there weren’t enough airplanes, airfields. It was located in poorly adapted rooms, dugouts. In winter, due to the lack of airfields, flights were carried out even from the frozen water area of the Irtysh River . Despite the 30-40 degree Siberian frosts, flights were carried out without interruption. Airplanes took off from dawn and finished work at nightfall. The front required flight personnel, since the aviation industry of the USSR by 1943-44 significantly increased the production of aircraft.

The school graduated several thousand pilots, fearless fighters for the liberation of their homeland, who heroically fought during the years of World War II with the German invaders. The educational process for teaching the piloting technique was carried out on Po-2 aircraft in the school according to the textbook: Flight training course (KULP) - the piloting technique on Po-2 aircraft. The author of the textbook is M. D. Abramov. The educational establishments of the Civil Air Fleet have trained and retrained more than 40 thousand aviators, of which more than 20 thousand were transferred to the Air Force and Long-Range Aviation (ADD). The former pilot of the Civil Air Fleet commanded ADD, later - Chief Aviation Marshal A.E. Golovanov .

In October 1945, after the end of World War II, the Pavlodar school of airborne pilots was relocated to the city of Buguruslan, Orenburg Region , the 4th Syr-Darya Aviation Squadron was also relocated here and the school was renamed the Civil Aviation School (GA). The Buguruslan Civil Aviation School on November 17, 1947 (Order of the Main Directorate of the Civil Air Fleet No. 168) was relocated to the Volga village of Krasny Kut, to the base of the Kachinsky military school of pilots previously located here, since there were the most favorable conditions for training flights (airfields, free airspace, etc.) . d.).

In the post-war years, the Krasnokutsk citizens began to train pilots for the national economy aviation.

On June 12, 1948, the school was renamed the Krasnokutsk Civil Aviation Flight School (KLU GA).

It was a difficult time in the initial period of the organization of KLU GA. There was no base as such for the school. It was placed in poorly adapted log rooms (barracks) with stove heating, in which it was not very warm. Students in the classroom sat in overcoats, ate in a dilapidated dining room. There was not a single brick building in the air town. There was one house at the airport, in which there were all flight services and a weather station. The aviation engineering service was based in dugouts. Aircraft maintenance was carried out without any mechanization. Refueling Po-2 aircraft with fuel and oil was carried out manually from tanks. The basic repair organizations of Aeroflot could not timely overhaul the Po-2 aircraft, for this purpose the school organized workshops (LERM) for the repair of Po-2 aircraft and M-11 engines and thereby ensured the implementation of the training plan.

From year to year, the school grew, its material base expanded, the country needed flight personnel, in connection with this, the volume of work increased, the number of aircraft increased. The Po-2 aircraft were replaced by Li-2, An-2, and Yak-18A aircraft.

The radio equipment of these aircraft ensured flight safety, control and management of flights from the ground. Radiated aircraft required completely new teaching methods and aircraft maintenance facilities, and the school command did everything possible to equip airfields and command posts with the necessary equipment.

During these years, the flight school was headed by the school principals: - Dubensky A. S. (1940-1943); - Lieutenant Colonel Kanonenko F.N. (1943-1947); - Colonel Mironov N.I. (1947-1948).

Under the leadership of N.I. Mironov, the school was relocated from Buguruslan to Krasny Kut, and the development of the Krasnokutsk flight school itself began with the commissioning of the Po-2 aircraft in 1947.

In 1948-1951, the school was headed by I. Pogorelov

From 1951 to 1962, the school worked under the direction of Colonel P. Khripko, a graduate of the Kachin Flight School.

During this period, the school switched to the operation of new equipment. To replace the Po-2 aircraft in 1955, the school received 6 An-2 aircraft. A radical reconstruction of the material-technical and educational base of the school is taking place.

In 1957, an additional Li-2 aircraft was put into operation and training flights were already carried out on three types of aircraft: An-2, Po-2, Li-2. In the same year, the first graduation of young pilots on the An-2 aircraft was made, in addition to this, the special kit for retraining the Air Force pilots for GA pilots was received and issued according to the reduced program and duration of training.

In 1958, the Yak-18A aircraft was commissioned.

The school trained navigators in 1952-1954 on Po-2 planes and in 1955-1958 on An-2 planes. The training base for pilots and navigators expanded and by the beginning of 1960 the school included several units.

In 1960, 1 aircraft along with Li-2 aircraft were relocated to the city of Kirovograd , where they became the basis of the newly created School of Higher Flight Training (KShVLP).

Social issues were being addressed - the construction of houses with comfortable apartments began.

Personally Khripko P. D., a lot of work was done on the selection and placement of personnel, which made it possible in the future to make a great contribution to the successful development and coordinated work of the flight school.

In 1962-1976, the flight school was headed by I. Didenko, a graduate of the Krasnokutsk GA flight school of 1949, one of the first pilots of the 1st grade and specialists with higher education in the school. He was awarded the government awards: “Order of the Red Banner of Labor”, medal “For Victory over Germany”, medal “20 years of the Soviet Army”; Honored Pilot of the USSR.

During this period, the renewal of the aircraft fleet and the capacity building of the educational institution continued - the school expanded to six flight units.

There is a qualitative increase in the level of professional training of flight personnel, engineering and aviation services, employees of departments and services, constantly replenished by specialists with higher education. The priority in the work is the quality of training of graduates.

An energetic, competent leader, a true leader in the team, I.F. Didenko left a deep mark in the glorious history of the flight school.

In 1976, Didenko I.F. was transferred to the central office of the Moscow State Academy of Arts, where he worked as deputy chief of the University of Moscow State Pedagogical University and chairman of the Civil Aviation Commission.

In 1971, the Yak-18A aircraft was decommissioned and only the An-2 aircraft remained in the school.

Since 1976, the school was headed by Ivko V. G. (graduate of the 1953 Krasnokutsk GA flight school, the VAU - 1967, was awarded the Orders: “Badge of Honor”, “Friendship of Peoples”; Honored Transport Worker of the USSR, Excellent Aeroflot, 1st class pilot).

This period coincided with the rapid growth in passenger and cargo transportation to the Civil Aviation, and, consequently, the growth of the industry's demand for aviation specialists and flight personnel in particular. Along with the growth in the volume of training and flight work and the need to ensure the proper quality of training of specialists, the problems of ensuring flight safety become especially priority. These years in the life of the school were marked by the rapid growth of housing construction. In a festive atmosphere, the last barracks left over from the Kachin pilot school were demolished.

In 1978, the Yak-18T primary training aircraft (35 series) was commissioned.

In 1980, the Krasnokutsk flight school was awarded the challenge Red Banner as the winner of the competition between civil aviation educational institutions. A high sense of personal responsibility Ivko V.G., exactingness to subordinates allowed to ensure the successful operation of the institution from 1976 to 1987. In 1987, Sulimin BC (1st Class Pilot. Honored Pilot of Russia) was appointed head of the school, who led the school until 2005. In 1988, the Yak-18T aircraft was decommissioned and only one type of aircraft remained in the school, that is, the An-2 aircraft, which is still in operation.

The most significant contribution to the development of the educational institution was also made by: Deputy Heads of the flight training school: Abramov M.D., Ivanov A.V., Kozha I.I., Knyazkov V.A., Kosarev Yu.S., Miller L. R., Myshkin N. V. Chief navigator of the school - V. Orlyansky. Chief engineer of the school - Grigoryev S. Ya., Deputy chief for ground services - Gorkovenko E. E.
