After the release of the scandalously radical album It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back (1988), they bypassed Run DMC as the most avant-garde hip-hop project [5] . In contrast to the erotic escapism of NWA , Public Enemy texts were dedicated to sensitive social topics and encouraged listeners to take an active life position. Both musically and politically, Public Enemy were revolutionaries [5] . Despite a sharp decrease in activity in the 1990s, for many connoisseurs of hip-hop, Public Enemy remains the benchmark for the rap group [5] .
The musical direction of the group was answered by the production team of The Bomb Squad , mixing a thick sound on avant-garde intersperses of unrecognizable samples against the background of screeching police sirens and a non-stop, deep funky beat. This seemingly chaotic music, coupled with Rydenauer's vocal vocals and comedic antics of Drayton, charged listeners with the energy of radicalism. Introduced by Public Enemy into the hip-hop stream of social protest became a hallmark of the 1990s hip-hop [5] .
