Tumcha

Tumcha is a river in the southwest of the Murmansk region of Russia . It flows through the territory of Kandalaksha district . It falls into Tumchozero .

The length is 16 km [2] . The basin area is 5240 km² [3] . Width 20-60 m .

Threshold Cornice

Formed by the confluence of the Kutsaioki and Tuntsayoki rivers. It flows through a forest, marshy area. The river is not navigable, has rapids and shivers . It falls into Tumchozero (part of the Iovsk reservoir ) in its western part. Water consumption about 25 m³ / s at the source and about 50 m³ / s at the mouth . There are no settlements on the river. Nearest settlements: Zarechensk village and Alakurtti village.

Water tourists often cross this river after passing Kutsaioki or Tuntsaioki. Normal travel time to last ½ threshold is 1 day.

Often the Tuntsayoki River is mistakenly called Tumcha.
