The game was originally released on the PC platform ( Windows ). Shortly before the release of the game, the software company officially announced the opening of a new game development department for the current generation of game consoles. Subsequently, the games that the department is working on were named - one of these games is the Oniblade version for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles . The release of console versions is scheduled for December 2008.
The name of the game is the nickname of the main character. It is composed of the Japanese word They ("demon", "demonic") and the English blade ("blade").
The game uses its own game engine - Dagor Engine .
The player controls a heroine, a treasure hunter, nicknamed Oniblade. The weapon of the heroine are two gunblades , which can be used as a cold weapon and a firearm for close and ranged combat, respectively.
The game has role-playing elements - the ability to improve the skills of the heroine and weapon modernization. There are two different endings - “light” and “dark”. To get a “light” ending, a player must not use “dark” power during the game.
The game has 30 locations that can be visited again, about 20 magic spells and combat techniques, dozens of different enemies.

Enhanced Version
February 10, 2009 released an amended version called X-Blades: Postmortem ( Russian. Swords-X: Posthumously ) [2] .
Collector's Edition
On February 20, 2009, a collector's edition called X-Blades: Royal Edition ( Russian Swords-X: Royal Edition ) was released. It includes: a game disc, a soundtrack disc, a user manual, a passage guide, an illustration album, a two-sided poster , hand-painted Ayumi figure and mouse pad in the PC version [3] .

Interesting Facts
The English version was published in the USA under the name X-Blades ( Russian Swords-X ), and the main character changed the name to the popular Japanese name "Ayumi" ( English Ayumi ).
