Bell 47

Bell 47 is an American light helicopter . Designed by Bell Designer Arthur Young based on the Bell 30 . Received the first flight certificate in the USA in 1946 . It was widely used during the war in Korea (1950-1953) as a search and rescue and communications helicopter. Produced in various civilian and military versions (more than 30 options). Depending on the year of manufacture and modification, it was produced with different types of fuselage and cockpit, had a passenger capacity of 1 to 3 people, was equipped with various versions of piston engines (200–305 hp). It remained the best helicopter of its class until the late 1960s. The helicopter remained in serial production until 1973 , in total more than 5600 aircraft were produced. As of 2011, 1,068 Bell 47 family helicopters were registered in the U.S. Aviation Administration (FAA) registry.
