Biography

In 1967 he graduated from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute . He was left at the Institute and 5 years working in the field of nuclear physics . Then he began work on his thesis.

In 1971, he became a free artist: he left the institute "to nowhere." From 1974 (until 1982 ) he was the art editor of the Chemistry and Life magazine. Zlatkovsky could not publish in the central press. He earned his private carrying, published under other names, in his spare time he coached the children's tennis group. He was the main artist of the journal Nature and Man , and then a political cartoonist of the Moscow News weekly (since 1988 ).

From 1975 to 1980 he made posters (in a single copy) for Vladimir Vysotsky , which he later transferred to the Museum-Cultural Center named after him.

Since 1988, began to draw a political caricature . He was the first artist to start caricatures of Mikhail Gorbachev .

At the same time (in 1988 ), Mikhail Zlatkovsky was abdicated by his father. My father was a military scientist (doctor of sciences, professor). Under the threat of dismissal from service, he was forced to write a statement to the party committee of the Ministry of Defense: “I haven’t maintained relations with my son for a long time, I don’t share his political views and my attempts to guide my son on the right path were futile,” but the relationship between his son and his father remained the same.

From 1993 to 1997, he lived and worked in the United States , then returned to Russia.

Author of several articles on caricature and books "The History of Russian Caricature", "The History of the World Caricature". Publisher of the quarterly magazine "Caricature", 1999-2002. The head and consultant of many theses, dissertations and term papers on caricature in Russia and abroad.

President (28 times) and jury member (79 times) of many international caricature contests.

Family
