History

In 2003, the idea of ​​creating a radio network was born, it began broadcasting in St. Petersburg at a frequency of 68.66 MHz and in the city of Kirishi at a frequency of 103.0 FM . In the FM-band of St. Petersburg it has been broadcasting since the spring of 2005 at a frequency of 87.5 MHz. RDS callsign - DOPO * HOE SPB 87.5 FM. Currently broadcasts in about 370 cities, the vast majority of which are in Russia . Also, “Road Radio” broadcasts in Transnistria and in the Donetsk People’s Republic .

The format is an urban romance , hits of Russian pop music of the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s and some hits of Western pop music of the 1980s and 1990s. The ratio of Russian-language and foreign music is 90/10%. The format of some Russian-language music is a bit like Radio Dacha , and some western pop songs are similar to Retro FM .

In addition to music, there are news, weather forecasts and traffic information on the air. It is one of the five largest radio networks in Russia . The fastest growing network in the country.

March 1, 2010 "Road Radio" began broadcasting in Finland [2]

On September 30, 2010, Dorozhnoe Radio appeared in Moscow on the frequency of the Voyage FM radio station they acquired - 96.0 MHz. RDS callsign - DOPO * HOE MOCKBA 96.0 FM.

On March 3, 2014, the Kommersant newspaper received confirmation from Tikhomirov of the fact of the existence of a preliminary agreement between EMG and Center for New Technologies LLC (CST), managing Dorozhny Radio, about the purchase of an asset and the fact of submitting an application for approval of this transaction to the FAS . An application for the purchase of 100% of TsNT LLC was received at the end of February 2014, as specified by the FAS. The Road Radio network includes more than 600 cities, the station is the leader in St. Petersburg , the second in daily audience throughout Russia and the ninth in Moscow [3] . There was no discussion about the purchase of other DTT stations: Radio for Two (CJSC Central European Broadcasting and Communications Company) and Radio Vanya (StarsMedia LLC) [4] .

On April 1, 2014, the FAS granted the request of EMG, although for this the agency needed additional documents from the buyer. According to a source in the Kommersant newspaper, after signing an agreement with the owners of Dorozhny Radio, the interest in this network was shown in Gazprom Media . However, this company was not satisfied with the price requested by the sellers - 60-70 million dollars. The transaction will allow EMG to increase the share among Moscow radio listeners from 15% to 17.6%, in St. Petersburg - from 15.8% to 24.7% [5] . On April 14, 2014, the transaction was completed. According to the rating of Radio of Russia on January 4, 2016, Road Radio takes the 1st place among fm radio stations [7] .

Road Radio Stars

The Stars of Road Radio is the largest off-air project of the radio station Road Radio. In April 2012, the radio station for the first time held a prize presentation in the Ice Palace of St. Petersburg. From this moment, this event has become traditional and annual. The television version of the festival is broadcast by the Fifth Channel , as well as the TV Center TV channel.
