- Lovmyansky, Henryk (1898-1984) - Polish scientist, medieval historian, Slavic, professor, doctor of sciences, academician of the Polish Academy of Sciences (since 1952). The author of the monumental 6-volume work “The Beginning of Poland”.
- Smetona, Antanas (1874-1944) - Lithuanian statesman, President of Lithuania in 1919-1920 and 1926-1940.
