Content
History
One of the famous regiments of the Russian army. Formed in November 1811 as part of 3 battalions, was part of the Guards Infantry Division. He took part in the Patriotic War of 1812. He received baptism of fire in the Battle of Borodino, distinguishing himself in repelling the attack of the French cuirassiers and defending the heights at the Semyonovsky ravine. M.I. Kutuzov noted that at the battle of Borodino, the Lithuanian and Izmailovsky Life Guards regiments "... covered themselves with glory in the sight of the whole army"
As part of the Russian guard, the regiment participated in the battle of Maloyaroslavets and the persecution of the French. For courage and heroism, all the battalions of the regiment in 1813 were awarded the St. George banners with the inscription: "For the differences in defeating and expelling the enemy from the borders of Russia in 1812." During the overseas campaigns of the Russian army in 1813, the regiment participated in the Lutzen, Bautzen, Dresden, Leipzig battles and in the battle of Kulm.
On October 12, 1817, in honor of the fifth anniversary of the expulsion of the invaders from Moscow and the laying of the Church of Christ the Savior in honor of the victory over the Napoleonic army, to mark the special feats provided by the regiment in the Battle of Borodino and the defense of Moscow, the Life Guard The Lithuanian regiment was renamed the Life Guards Moscow Regiment .
- 12.10.1817 - from the 3rd battalion of the Life Guard of the Lithuanian Regiment , located in Warsaw from 1814 in the Guards detachment under Crown Prince Konstantin Pavlovich, with the addition of natives of the Polish Kingdom from other regiments, a new Life Guard of the Lithuanian Regiment was formed on the rights and advantages of the Old Guard .
- 04/16/1818 - the regiment was made up of 2 battalions, each with 1 grenadier and 3 fusilier companies .
- 01/04/1831 - a reserve of 2 companies was formed with a regiment.
- 07/25/1831 - the regiment is included in the composition of the Separate Guard Corps .
- 11.16.1831 - the reserve was reorganized into the 2nd battalion, and the former 2nd battalion was renamed the 3rd.
- 01/25/1842 - for the compilation of reserve troops, it was ordered to have a 4th battalion of unlimited leave- lower ranks in the personnel .
- 03/10/1854 - the 4th reserve battalion is listed in the 4th active; formed the 5th reserve battalion.
- 08/20/1854 - the 5th reserve battalion is transferred to the reserve; 6th reserve battalion formed.
- 09/17/1854 - The 4th active, 5th reserve and 6th reserve battalions were assigned to the Life Guards of the Lithuanian Reserve Regiment.
- 02/09/1856 - one of the best riflemen of the regiment for each battalion formed one rifle company.
- 08/06/1856 - the regiment was made up of 3 battalions with 3 rifle companies.
- 08/19/1857 - The 3rd battalion was renamed the reserve and disbanded for peacetime .
- 04/30/1863 - the 3rd battalion was formed and named active.
- In 1867, the regiment (without the 3rd battalion) was renamed the Moscow Regiment in the Life Guard, and the 3rd battalion served as the basis for the formation of a new regiment of the former name.
- 02/06/1875 - the 4th battalion consisting of 4 companies was formed from the rifle companies of the regiment.
- 08/07/1877 - a reserve battalion was formed.
- 09/15/1878 - the reserve battalion is disbanded.
- In the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878, the regiment fought under Telish , besieging Pleven. After the fall of the latter, he made a difficult winter crossing the Balkans and participated in the battles near Tashkisen , at Dolny Komarts, near Petrichev and Filippopol (now Plovdiv ). He particularly distinguished himself in the battle of Karagach (east of Filistopol), where he captured 23 Turkish guns. For the heroism shown in battles with the Turkish troops, the regiment personnel was awarded an honorary inscription on hats: "For Philippopol 3, 4 and 5 January 1878."
- 07/18/1914 - a reserve battalion was formed in connection with the mobilization of the regiment
- During the 1st World War, the regiment as part of the 3rd Guards Infantry Division took part in the hostilities on the North-Western, Western and South-Western fronts.
- From 04.03.1917 - Guard of the Lithuanian Regiment.
- 05/09/1917 - a reserve battalion deployed in the Guard Lithuanian Reserve Regiment (ave. In the Petrograd Military District No. 262)
- 04/03/1918 - the current regiment was disbanded (order of the Moscow Regional Commissariat for Military Affairs of 04/03/1918 No. 139)
- 05/31/1918 - the guard of the Lithuanian Reserve Regiment was disbanded (Order of the Commissariat for Military Affairs of the Petrograd Labor Commune of 7.06.1918 No. 137)
