According to data for 2000, the population was 33,847 people; Lynwood was one of the three largest cities in the county and ranked 24th in the ranking of the largest cities in Washington state. It combines the features of an urban-type settlement, a suburb, a small town, roadside, and sleeping areas for professionals working in Seattle . Lynwood is also known as the “central city” in the south of Snohomish County because it is a retail center.
