Shandong peninsula

Shandong Peninsula ( Chinese trade. 山東 半島 , ex. 山东 半岛 , pinyin : Shāndōng Bàndǎo , pall .: Shandong Bandao ) - a peninsula in the eastern part of China ( Shandong province), protrudes into the Bohai Bay and the Yellow Sea (last - 350 km [1] ) in the northeast direction to the Korean Peninsula. In fact, it has been an island since the unification of the southern and northern river routes of the peninsula into a single Jiaolaihe system in 1282 .

Geography

The relief of the peninsula, composed of ancient granites, metamorphic rocks and partially formed by the thin deposits of the Holocene (about 11,700 years have passed since the formation of the deposits), is hilly, the height above sea level is about 180 meters, however, the height of the peninsula’s highest point - Mount Laoshan - is 1,132 meter.

Economics

On the coast, croaker , saber fish , herring and shrimp are hunted, the beaches of the tidal sea, flooded with sea waters, serve as a breeding ground for mollusks. Cereals grow on small plains, on hills (in the southern part of the peninsula) - apples, grapes, pears, tea. The peninsula is rich in deposits of iron ore, magnesite and gold [2] .

On the rocky rugged shores are some of the best ports in China. In the southeastern part of the peninsula, there is the main port and industrial center (production of electronics, pharmaceuticals, oil refining, mechanical engineering) Qingdao [2] . The Yantai industry, located in the north, specializes in various industries, including textiles, food processing, engineering, construction equipment and electronics [2] .
