Geography
South Tepoto is an atoll 3 km long and 2.4 km wide. It is the smallest island in French Polynesia. In the center is a small lagoon connected to the ocean waters by a narrow passage.
History
Southern Tepoto was discovered in 1820 by the Russian traveler Faddey Faddeevich Bellingshausen .
Administrative Division
Administratively part of the municipality of Makemo .
Population
In 2007, the atoll was uninhabited, although from time to time it was visited by residents of nearby islands.
