Biography
Kirill Pletnev was born on December 30, 1979 in the city of Kharkov, Ukrainian SSR [1] . Father - Vladimir Pletnev, engineer-inventor. Mother - Tamara Fedorovna, master of sports of international class in ballroom dancing [2] . A year after the birth of Cyril, the family moved to Leningrad . He has a younger brother Michael, an architect [3] .
From the age of four, Cyril began to engage in sports ballroom dancing , to which his mother introduced him. He took part in all dance competitions held in pioneer camps, where he often took first places. Subsequently, he became the champion of Europe in modern dance [2] .
Until the ninth grade of high school, he studied at the Smena children's and youth sports school of the Zenit football club, but he did not like football . He was also involved in rock climbing in a school tourist group. He received a secondary general education at a school with a theatrical bias [4] .
In 1996, at the age of sixteen, he entered the acting department of the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts (SPbGATI) (course directed by Vladimir Petrov ). I passed entrance exams to the directing department, but the members of the selection committee, referring to his young age and lack of life experience, invited him to study as an actor. After graduating from the Academy in 2000, he was shown in several Moscow theaters. As a result, he joined the troupe of the Moscow Drama Theater under the direction of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan and moved to Moscow [4] [5] .
Since 2000, actively starred in films and television series.
In the spring of 2003, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan left the theater. From the same year, he began working with theater director Irina Keruchenko [4] .
In 2009, together with Daria Reznikova, he took part in the fourth season of the entertaining television show " Dancing with the Stars " [2] , where the couple took sixth place [3] .
In 2014, he graduated from the faculty of film drama and film directing of the Higher Film and Television Courses of the All-Russian State University of Cinematography named after S. A. Gerasimov (VGIK) (workshop of Denis Viktorovich Rodimin and Vladimir Alekseevich Fenchenko ) [6] . His first directorial work was the short feature film “6:23”, which tells about an actor who receives heavy news at the very height of the play [5] . The film was awarded with awards at festivals, including the 33rd VGIK International Student Festival . The thesis of the director Pletnev - the short film "Nastya" - won the main prize of the student jury of the 34th VGIK International Student Festival, the main prize of the competition " Kinotavr. Short Meter ”in 2015 [6] , as well as a prize in the short film competition of the Stalker International Film Festival of Human Rights in 2015 [7] . The success of the film “Nastya” helped in financing the third short film by Kirill Pletnev - “Mom” [8] .
In 2014, he was a member of the Expert Council of the Second All-Russian Open Screenplay and Scripting Contest “Cinema Prize” in Moscow [9] .
Personal life
Kirill Pletnev was married to actress Lydia Milyuzina (2010-2012). In this marriage, on April 20, 2011, the son of Fedor was born [10] .
The actor also has an eldest son, George (born 2007) [11] .
He was in a marriage with actress Nino Ninidze (daughter of Ii Ninidze ) [12] . On December 13, 2015, the couple had a son, Sandrick (Alexander) [7] . In 2019, the couple divorced.
