Born on January 28, 1963 in the village of Abramtsevo, Moscow Region, in the family of actor and poet Evgeny Kozmich Suponev and pianist Galina Vladimirovna Suponeva (d. Kulikova) [1] .
Parents divorced, mother married clarinet player Vyacheslav Petrovich Perov and gave birth to his sister Elena in 1976. Father married radio presenter Olga Kraeva.
After graduation, he entered the Moscow State University at the Faculty of Journalism, but from the second year he was drafted into the army . He served in the Armed Forces of the USSR from 1981 to 1983 in the orchestra of military unit 86632 in the village of Mulino, Dzerzhinsky District, Gorky Region [2] . In 1988 he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University [3] .
In 1980, he came to work at the Central Heating Center , at first he worked as a loader [4] .
In 1983, he held the position of administrator in the musical editorial office of the CT.
All holiday programs dedicated to public holidays in 1984 were created with the direct participation of Sergei Suponev.
In 1984-1986 he worked as an administrator in the propaganda department.
Since 1986, he worked in the Children's Edition of the CT and prepared stories for the program “ Under 16 and older ” [4] .
In 1987 he became a junior editor of the DR and was officially hired the same year.
On January 25, 1989, the program “ Marathon 15 ” appeared on the air of CT, where Suponev was the leading and one of the authors.
In 1993, at the invitation of Vlad Listyev, he began to lead the program “ Starry Hour ” for children.
Then, on Channel One, he launched his own children's television game “Call of the Jungle,” the idea of which came to him in a dream. After 6 years, the program will receive a TEFI award.
Since 1994, he was the founder and employee of the television company “ Class! "
In the mid-1990s, he starred as the father of Douglas in the film directed by Igor Apasyan “ Dandelion Wine ”, based on the works of Ray Bradbury .
In 1994-1995 on the “ 2x2 ” channel, and from 1995 to 1996 on ORT, the program “ Dandy - New Reality ” was aired (on ORT it was simply called “New Reality”)
In 1997, Suponev created the children's television game Krugola for the TV Center channel, where he also auditioned for the role of presenter (a pilot episode was shot with him).

In April 1999, he participated in the capital show " Field of Miracles " as his own double.

He died at the 39th year of life in the evening of December 8, 2001 in the village of Edimonovo . While driving on the Volga’s ice, the Yamaha snowmobile skidded and crashed into the wooden bridges of the river pier half-hidden under ice. [8] As a result of the accident, Suponeva was thrown out of the saddle of a snowmobile, and he received fatal injuries.
December 11, 2001 was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery (plot number 4) in Moscow. An epitaph invented by his father was knocked out on a tombstone:
"Your star trek in this world laid from the screen into the souls of children."
After the death of Sergey’s son, Cyril, and his burial next to his father, the tombstone with this inscription was removed, and a common tombstone of the father and son Suponevs was installed in its place.

- Father - Eugene Kozmich Suponev (September 26, 1939 - February 17, 2008), was an actor of the Satire Theater , Honored Artist of Russia (1999) [12] [13] [14] . He wrote poems, some of which were later put to music. It is noteworthy that in 1990 the song "Starry Hour" was recorded and released on his poems (music by Yuri Martynov , performed by Aurik Rotaru ).
- Mother - Galina Vladimirovna Perova (Suponeva) (born May 17, 1941), pianist in the orchestra of the Satire Theater [13] .
- Stepmother - Olga Kraeva, commentator on the Mayak radio station. Sergei himself advised his father to marry her. Olga Kraeva helped Sergei determine his profession [14] .
- Stepfather - Vyacheslav Petrovich Perov (born July 31, 1946), clarinet player of the Moscow Academic Theater of Satire.

Sergey Suponev was twice married:
- First wife - Valeria Vladimirovna Suponeva (virgin. Istomina) (born June 5, 1965), a TV journalist, editor of television programs, works on TV, until 2002 she worked in the ORT Children's and Entertainment Broadcasting Directorate, the author and program manager was 100%, she managed the program "Themselves with a mustache." Suponev Jr. recently moved to live with his mother, but on the fateful day he asked a woman to give him a lift to the apartment on Osenny Boulevard , from where he needed to pick up some of his personal belongings. He told his parent that he would be in a minute and she might not even turn off the engine, and went to his place. After waiting a while, the woman decided to go up to the house and, to her horror, saw that Cyril hanged himself.
