Losier Ray

Ray Lusier was born on June 14, 1970 and grew up in West Newton, a small town an hour's drive from Pittsburgh . Ray took a few piano lessons, but quickly switched to drums at the age of five. Ray received his first real drum kit as a gift from his parents, who always supported him when he was seven years old. Although Ray was self-taught, he played in jazz, concert and parade groups. At the age of 15, he met with a local guitarist and joined his first rock band.

After leaving school in 1988, Luzier moved to Hollywood , California to continue his education at the famous Musicians Institute . In 1989, he graduated from the Department of Percussion Technology at the Musicians Institute. Lusier later returned to MI and gave percussion lessons as a teacher (1992-2001).

Luzier is best known for collaborating with David Lee Roth with whom he played drums from 1997 to 2005. Luzier also played with The Hideous Sun Demons , a progressive rock / fusion trio formed from David Lee Roth's former bandmates, Toshi Hicket (guitar) and James LoMenzo (bass).

In 2004, Luzier released a video tutorial DVD. The disc contains a wide range of lessons, including the technique of two bass drums, breaks and coordination exercises. The disc can be purchased through Amazon.com and Hal Leonard Publishing Co.

Luzier finished recording for Tracey G. Goaded's new project in May 2007 ^[1] .
