Biography
Karon was born in Beauvais. He began to paint as a teenager, making murals for churches. In 1540 - 1550 he worked with Primaticcio and Niccolo del Abbate in Fontainebleau. From 1561 he was at the court of Catherine de Medici and Henry II of Valois . As a court artist, he organized the coronation ceremonies of Charles IX in Paris and the marriage of Henry IV with Margarita de Valois (in the 20th century, their allegorical imagery attracted the attention of F. Yates ). He died in Paris in 1599.
Creativity
Not much of his work has been preserved. He drew historical and allegorical subjects, court ceremonies. Recreates with exquisiteness the tense, fragile atmosphere of the court of Valois during the religious wars of the 16th century. in France.
