Biography

Born in Rechitsa in a Jewish family [1] .

He graduated from the A. Gorky Literary Institute (1936).

Member of the Great Patriotic War from 06.24.1941, served in a special department of the NKVD. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1941. From September 1942, he served in the army newspaper "Courage" (27A), as a correspondent-organizer. Major. In one of the parts I met the platoon commander with a higher literary education - the future famous writer Sergey Smirnov and managed to transfer him to his newspaper, which saved his life.

He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree (1985), the Order of the Red Star (1944), the medal "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945."

Winner of Prizes of the Union of Writers of the USSR and the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions (1972). Ch. Union of Writers of the USSR (1958).
