- 1784 - A Caucasian infantry regiment consisting of 4 battalions (each battalion of one grenadier and 5 musketeer companies) was formed from the musketeers' mouths of the Astrakhan and Tomsk musketeers regiments.

- In the Russian-Turkish war of 1828–1829, he participated in the capture of Kars , Akhalkalaki and Akhaltsikha , in the battles of Kainly and Hart.
- In the Crimean War of 1853-1856 , the regiment, together with the Erivan regiment, played a prominent role in the battle of Kyuruk-Dara , which ended in the complete defeat of the Turkish army.
- On August 25, 1859, part of the forces of the regiment captured the aul Gunib having captured Shamil .
- During the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878, the regiment distinguished itself in the battles of the Aravartan and Aladzhi heights , which ended with the defeat of the Eastern Turkish Army.
