Area 1,411 km². Residents 32, 4 thousand people (32 116 on January 1, 2005 ), of which 46, 5% are men, 53, 5% are women; 98% of Lithuanians, 1% of Poles, 1% of representatives of other nationalities. 12.5% of the inhabitants of the district live in cities, 87.5% in villages.

Attractions
Not far from the Senyuni Miraslavas, on the left bank of the Pershekes river there are two ancient settlements: Kaukai and Obyalite [3] .
