HOPE ( German HO chleistungs- PE netrator ) and HOSBO ( German HO chleistungs- S preng- BO mbe ) - a family of highly maneuverable planning bombs (probably with an additional engine) of medium range, to hit ground, surface and underground targets (including inconspicuous and maneuverable, such as a jeep or speedboat). The project is being developed by Diehl BGT Defense GmbH & Ko KG . A deep penetration warhead is being developed to destroy well-defended targets. Navigation system - autonomous inertial with correction according to GPS data. Pointing with the installed camera.
Designed for arming Tornado and Eurofighter fighters. According to the developer [1], a large range allows non-stealth fighters to compare in capabilities of an "asymmetric response" with the latest F-18/22/35.
