Chuchalin, Alexander Grigorievich

Born in Reutovo-1 (Moscow region).

In 1957 he entered the 2nd Moscow, Order of Lenin State Medical Institute. N.I. Pirogova . From 1963 to 1965 he was a clinical intern, from 1965 to 1967 - a graduate student.

He defended his thesis in 1967, and his doctoral thesis in 1974.

In 1975, he received the title of professor and headed the department of hospital therapy (internal diseases) of the pediatric faculty of the 2nd MOLGMI named after N.I. Pirogova , which is in charge to this day. Since 1990, director of the Research Institute of Pulmonology. Since 2010, Vice President and Member of the Presidium of the National Medical Chamber . Chairman of the RAS Commission on Scientific Ethics (since 2017).

Member of the editorial board of the First Medical Channel.

Under his leadership, 40 doctoral and 116 master's theses were defended.

One of the founders of the Russian school of pulmonology . In 2006, under his leadership, the first successful bilateral lung transplantation in Russia was performed .

The author of 17 monographs and textbooks, many scientific articles in Russian and foreign journals.
