Bibabo is the simplest doll consisting of a head and a dress in the form of a glove. The head has a special hole for the index finger, and the thumb and middle finger are used for gesturing with the hands of the doll.
Bibabo are often used in traveling puppet theaters.
Such a doll determined the fate of Sergei Obraztsov , who writes in his memoirs:
Mom gave me a little funny doll. This Bibabo doll was called and consisted of a celluloid head and a blue robe, worn on the hand like a glove ... Everything Bibabo did was funny and a little touching. I loved him and felt sorry for how little kittens' children love and regret. I even took him for a walk with me, and he stuck in the sleeve of my short fur coat, examining passers-by, the city, children on Chistoprudny Boulevard or a shop window ...
In 1917, the B-bo-bo cabaret was created in Petrograd by director K. Mardzhanov, singer N. Tamara, poet N. Agnivtsev and actor F. Kurikhin.
