Biography
Born in 1801, came from the nobles of the Volyn province .
He joined the junker in the 49th Jaeger Regiment in 1818, and was promoted to ensign on May 20, 1820. He was transferred to the Volyn Infantry Regiment in 1833, and in the rank of major, he served as senior adjutant. at the headquarters of the 6th Infantry Corps (from 1831 to 1835) and then at the headquarters of the 3rd Infantry Corps (from 1835 to 1839). During the Polish campaign of 1831, Cherwinsky participated in the battle on the Grochowski fields and for the differences against the rebels received the Order of St. 3rd degree Anna with bow and st. 4th degree Vladimir with a bow. From 1839 to 1852 Chervinsky held the post of headquarters officer of the 5th Infantry Corps and, with the rank of colonel, participated in the campaign against the Caucasian Highlanders in 1844, consisting of the duty headquarters officer of the Dagestan detachment; December 5, 1841 he was awarded the Order of St. George 4th degree (No. 6603 according to the list of Grigorovich - Stepanov).
In 1850, at the end of the Hungarian campaign , Chervinsky was the chief of staff for the troops remaining in the principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia.
Produced on September 28, 1852 as a major general, with the appointment of being a part of the Ministry of the Interior and leaving the army, Chervinsky in the Crimean War corrected the position of: duty general of the 4th and 5th infantry corps from June to October 1853 and Director of the hospitals of the troops of the 3rd, 4th and 5th Infantry Corps from December 1853 to October 1854. On May 12, 1855 he was appointed to the post of duty general of the Southern Army, from January 25, 1856 he served as the duty general of that the army and troops located in the Crimea ; the duty general of the 2nd Army - from June 10 of the same year and, finally, he performed the affairs of the Chief of the General Staff of the 2nd Army - from September 3 of the same year.
From October 1856 to 1858 he was chairman of the Provisional Commission for completing the affairs of the abolished General Staff of the 2nd Army.
On June 1, 1859, he was a member of the Military Codification Commission, and on November 30, 1861, he was promoted to lieutenant general with dismissal from service.
He had orders: St. Stanislav 1st degree (1855), St. Annas of the 1st degree with an imperial crown and with swords (1859).
The time of Chervinskyβs death is unknown.
