Biography

Born May 17, 1943 in Rasskazovo, Tambov Region , where he was only a month, spent his childhood and youth in Moscow. In 1965, Alexander Lenkov graduated from the studio at the Theater. Moscow City Council (teacher Yu. A. Zavadsky ) and was admitted to the troupe of the Moscow Academic Theater named after Mossovet [4] . Since that time, he was an actor of this theater, starred in films, performed on television and radio. Later he began teaching activities at VGIK .

In 1964, he first starred in films in the films “ Give a Mournful Book ” and “ Keys to Heaven, ” which brought him fame [5] . Lenkov was also remembered for the images of clumsy single men in the films “ Winter Cherry ” and “ Little Vera ”. On the radio, the artist voiced the role of Andrei Alekseevich Azbuchkin in the program for children, "Merry Alphabet." In 2001, the programs “ KOAPP ” and “ Put Out the Light ” with the participation of A. Lenkov received three TEFI awards [5] [6] .

He starred mainly in supporting roles and comedic episodes.

In the early and mid-1980s, he hosted the program “Skillful Hands” for children. In 2013-2014, until his death, he was the host of the television program “Tales for the Youngest” on the TV channel “ My Joy ” (grandfather Eusebius).

He was married, has a daughter Catherine (born 1969) and a grandson Philip.

He died at the 71st year of life on the night of April 21, 2014 after a serious and prolonged illness (cancer) [7] in Moscow [8] . The last six months he spent in the hospital. He successfully performed operations [9] . The funeral service was held on April 23, 2014, at the Mossovet Theater . He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery [10] (plot 8a) in Moscow. [eleven]
