One of the city caves - Tavash - is famous not only for its beautiful views. Since 1981, a cave has been used for medicinal purposes, located under the city hospital and discovered in 1925. Due to its special microclimate, characterized by constant temperature, high humidity, lack of dust and allergens in the cave, patients with respiratory diseases have been successfully treated for decades. This is one of the five speleohospital centers in Hungary.

Bioclimatic characteristics and dimensions of the cave

  • Area: 1210 m²
  • Volume: 3490 m³
