Nikolaev tucherez is a breed of pigeons bred by Ukrainian pigeon breeders. The Nikolaev tucherez got their name from the city of Nikolaev . Like most good flyers, Nikolaev’s body is somewhat elongated, they are low on legs, chest is muscular, wings are strong, head is slightly elongated, eye color depends on the color of plumage. Mykolayiv are white, red, black, yellow, red-sided, white-tailed.

History
The history of this breed is traced from the end of the XIX century . But her first descriptions on the pages of magazines were published only after the Second World War . It arose in the southern regions of Ukraine . The birthplace of this breed is considered to be Nikolaev . The main goal that was pursued during the breeding of the breed was to consolidate the style of flight, while the color of the plumage was paid secondary attention.
Currently, Nikolaev pigeons are widespread in all areas of the former USSR , as well as in Western countries. In Poland , for example, on the basis of Nikolaev "Polish eagles" with soaring, circleless flight were bred. In Germany there is a club of lovers of this wonderful bird, which has developed its own standard for this breed.
General impression
At present, at the pigeon exhibitions, the assessment of Mykolayiv turchez according to the following description:
- A pigeon of medium size, with an elongated body and raised chest at 40-45 ', landing low.
- The head is smooth, dry, rounded elongated.
- The eyes are not large, with pure white birds - dark brown, with colored golden straw, eyelids narrow colors of baked milk.
- The beak is long, proportional to the size of the head, light, relatively thin, the wax is not sick, white and tightly attached to the beak.
- The neck is short, thick, convex.
- The chest is broad, convex, with well-developed muscles.
- The wings are long, closed, not tightly attached to the body, their ends lie on the tail or are at a level with it. Feather feathers are wide and elastic.
- The back is wide, straight, elongated, passes smoothly into the tail.
- The tail is wide 12-16 feathers, elongated, tail feathers are wide and elastic.
- Legs are short, not feathered, red-brown.
Flight
This breed of pigeons without a circular flight, on ascending air or in a uniform headwind, it looks like a flight of a lark or a butterfly.
