From 1990 to May 23, 2003, passenger trains regularly ran along the Pereslavl Railway along two routes: Pereslavl - Kupanskoye and Kupanskoye- Kubrinsk . Passenger traffic was in demand among residents of the Pereslavl region and tourists. Several times a year, retro-trains with locomotives — exhibits of the Pereslavl Railway Museum — passed by rail .
The length of lines open for passenger traffic in 2001 was 41 kilometers. In some sections, the railway ran along the shore of Lake Pleshcheeva .
In 2003, by decision of the owners, the railway was closed. In 2004-2005, the rail track was dismantled along the entire length of the road, except for a very short section near the museum.
