Parliamentary elections in Vanuatu (1979)

Parliamentary elections in Vanuatu took place on November 19, 1979 . They were the first parliamentary elections in the country. Occurred a year before independence. As a result of the elections, the representative of the Vanuaca Party, Walter Lini, became the chief minister (since 1980 - Prime Minister).
